Farther away from the beginning but seemingly not much closer to the end.

“despite our progress I observed that we moved farther away from the beginning but seemingly not much closer to the end.”

So I wrote this morning from the perspective of the protagonist only to realize that this statement is true on many levels. As I write this novel I sometimes wonder, “Will  I ever make it.” I am still in the phase of the first draft and after that must come the second third and probably fourth. I know I shall feel a great sense of accomplishment when the initial draft is complete but perhaps this will pale in comparison to when the entire narrative has been crafted and bound into its final form.

I must realize that further away from the beginning is closer to the end no matter how much it seems otherwise.

There is an end goal.

I will reach it.

One word at a time.
