Poetry Once More

Once More

Some inspiration hit me last night. First poem in a while.

Once more unto the wars, they rode
Once more and none to aid them
Once more with bloodied swords in hand
Once more and none to save them

Once more they raised their voice and cried
For loved ones, lost ones, those who died
Once more they battled for the light
Once more into the shadowed land

Where hope is gone and all is night.

Haiku

Over the next few weeks I’ll be adding some old Haiku I drafted over the last few months. I hope you enjoy.

Down the busy street,

Chasing opportunity.

You missed me again.

I see you.

I see you in your office door,

Pass by, pass by.

I see you on the streets you walk,

Pass by, pass by.

I see you in your fancy cars,

Pass by, pass by.

I see you with your talking friends,

Pass by, pass by.

I see you in your brand new clothes,

Pass by, pass by.

I see you when I need your help,

Pass by, pass by.

I see you when I need a hand,

Pass by, pass by.

I see you when I’m hungry now,

Pass by, pass by.

I see you on these winter nights,

Pass by, pass by.

I see you when I’m on my own,

Pass by, pass by.

I see you each and every day,

But you do not see me.

A break from the long process of Novel writing. Poetry is not my forte, but I was inspired this morning.
